FULLY SYNTHETIC OIL
Moty’s gear oils are so developed that they can withstand high temperature and high load, and they can perform each characteristic to the fullest. Ordinary gear oils have been developed for smooth lubrication to prevent the wear of gear teeth. However, adding to that, modern automotive gear lubrication requires smooth drivability with quick and safe shifting. In the gear system, a high level of hydraulic control property and slip control property are required. In other words, it is required for modern gear oils, not only to cope with old-fashioned smooth lubrication of gears, but also to cope with new types of gear materials and versatility of gear system designs. Furthermore, even in the same type of LSD, in order to achieve the best fitting, the same type of product is not always the best due to differences in preload, driving conditions, presence or absence of overhaul, etc. The same applies to the mission system. In response to such a wide range of conditions and achieve the best fitting, Moty’s synthetic gear oil has a lineup of 14 types and various viscosity grades, enabling ultimate customization.

M400 series products are developed to meet the requirements of universal usage applications from considerably rough clearance transmission gear boxes to latest compact car transmission gear boxes, and is designed to have a slightly higher cushioning property than M408. Multiple hydrocarbon type synthetic base stocks and multiple ester type synthetic base stocks are used for this product using new concept in tribology together with newly balanced function additives. This product is specifically for manual transmission gear box only. The 75W140 grade contains functional additives to have different configurations than other grades for use in LSD.

The M405 series are developed for the purpose of balancing complicated required performance such as reduces the viscous resistance caused by mission oil, which is one of the negative factors in the competition of small displacement vehicles, while suppressing the decrease in the synchronization degree of the synchronizer ring due to the low viscosity, and also reduction of LSD chattering noise in small FF vehicles installed LSD.
This product can be used from general driving to circuit driving, and is also suitable for improving the shift feel at low temperatures such as when starting the engine in cold regions and winter.
It also fits the transmission of FR cars.

M407 is semi-synthetic gear oil without polymers consisting of special mineral oil as used in Moty’s M509 mineral gear oil and multiple ester type synthetic base oils together with various types of Moty’s proprietary function additives. All viscosity grades in this gear oil are so designed to cope with considerably wide clearance transmissions. Different from other viscosity, M407/85W140 has more function additives to cope with better lubrication of LSD.

M408, different from M407 which is for relatively rough clearance transmissions, is developed for compact and tight clearance/backlash transmissions. Moty’s M408 consists of multiple hydrocarbon type synthetic base stocks and high temperature resistant, high soluble ester type synthetic base stocks fortified with selected function polymer which enables it to maintain cohesiveness under high searing speed at the sliding parts of the gear systems. 75W140, however, does not contain a polymer assuming use under high-temperature and high-load conditions.

The M409 series is developed with an emphasis on long-term use under the severest high-temperature and high-load conditions. It is a non-polymer type product mainly composed of multiple ester-based synthetic base oils.
Functional additives are formulated to have low friction characteristics to support LSD and the like for M409・M409S and to have high friction characteristics to impart the ultimate braking function to the synchronizer ring for M409M.
The M409 series is also ideal for all dog missions under high load conditions.

SPECIALIZED MINERAL OIL
Our commitment to mineral oil is also being applied to gear oil.
We are conducting research and development to deal with the wide backlash gears and sliding surfaces of old-fashioned machines under high surface pressure by making the best use of this characteristic of traditional mineral base oil with abundant natural inhibitors.
The composition of functional additives is also balanced differently from synthetic oils in order to take advantage of the characteristics of mineral base oils.
Furthermore, our development extended to modifying the traditional mineral base oil, and finally Moty’s newly developed base stock TRB 0971 was developed, and we decided to adopt it for M509X with further improvement in pressure resistance, heat resistance and durability.

This product is a standard model of Moty’s mineral gear oil and can widely be used from town drive to circuit drive. Special mineral base stock and well-balanced various function additives are used for this product. Depending on viscosity grade, you can use it for various manual transmissions and differential gear boxes with LSD.

Based on tribology on old fashioned mineral base stock and Moty’s proprietary function additives, this product is the high quality special mineral gear oil having excellent adhesive/cohesive and excellent shock resistance properties. Other than for transmissions and differentials on old fashioned cars under high temperature at high load conditions, this product can also be used for transmissions and LSDs on latest model cars. In that case, you will feel a unique shift feeling and LSD performance which you will not be able to experience with synthetic gear oils.
M509S has improved the synchronization of the synchronizer ring by adjusting the molecular weight distribution in M509. For FF cars with LSD under high temperature and high load applications, M509S(80W110) or M509(80W140) are recommended.

It can be said that this product was born from a new challenge based on the concept of M509.
The newly developed base oil TRB 0971, which was developed by a new approach different from the conventional one, was formulated in Moty’s products for the first time. This base oil was developed for the purpose of improving protection performance under high surface pressure, and is characterized by its high buffer action.
By introducing this newly developed base oil TRB 0971 and readjusting the polymer material, This product realizes heat resistance, durability and protection performance at high-temperature and high-load conditions, which surpasses the existing M509.
